Liv Runs The London Marathon 2022

London Marathon 2022 · 2 October 2022 ·
Clearly running a marathon once wasn’t enough. I remember saying to Philly at mile 19 in 2018, “If I tell you I want to run this again please stop me and remind me of this pain right now”... it’s fair to say that ended once I crossed the finish line and I promised myself that, before I turn 30, I was doing this again but for a cancer related charity.
Cancer is a disease that will effect 1 in 3 of us. COVID has had a huge impact on charities across the board as people have been unable to fundraise the way we used to, and charities like Cancer Research need us now more than ever. There are patients who are awaiting delayed treatment which has been impacted because of COVID. There are people out there right now who are delaying going for their appointments such as breast screening, smear tests, getting moles checked etc because there just isn’t the capacity to deal with everything at the same time. This will impact so many people for years to come.
Yes I want to raise money for Cancer Research, but ultimately I want to encourage you all to not be afraid, to get that lump or mole checked out, to go to your smear test when you receive your letter in the post. These are all preventative measures and, by ignoring it, they will never go away. Your appointment might just save your life, my smear test saved my life. Don’t ever think it will be someone else’s story.
So if you can, please dig deep, whatever you can give I will be eternally grateful.
Thank you!
