Thank you for taking the time to visit my JustGiving page!
After running my first half marathon last year (and thoroughly catching the event-running bug), I decided 2022 was the year for an even greater challenge - and what better way to do that than to run double the distance and raise double the amount of money for Mind 💙. I’m super excited, and slightly terrified, to be running the TCS London Marathon on the 2nd October 2022!
I have chosen to once again raise money for Mind, a charity that provides advice and support to empower anyone experiencing a mental health problem.
Although it may seem as though life has largely returned to normal, the pandemic has sadly had a lasting effect on the mental health of many, with the impact of lockdowns and prolonged isolation leaving people struggling to cope - shockingly, half of parents have said their children’s mental health is worse now than before the pandemic.
The amazing people at Mind provide supportive and reliable information that can change people’s lives, empower people to understand their condition and the choices available to them. Most importantly, Mind are tackling mental health from an early age by calling on the government to fund a network of early support hubs across the UK.
This is my first marathon and i’ve been training really hard just to be able to get round the 26.2 miles! I’m currently 18 weeks into my training, my longest run is 20 miles and I have run 314 miles so far (including a few half marathons in a heatwave). I would really appreciate any donations towards my £2000 goal!
