Olivia Takes on the London Marathon

Thank you for visiting my fundraising page.
My sister and I are tackling the London Marathon in April 09 and aim to raise £1500 each for Heart UK. The run and funds raised is all in memory of our Dad - Tom Jones who died from a heart attack in Jun 08 whilst training for the London Marathon.
Dad had undiagnosed, out of control, high cholesterol, caused by an inherited gene. As he wasn't diagnosed and treated early, Dad was, several decades later, living with a death sentence. The cholesterol had built up and eventually caused a fatal blockage.
We cannot emphasize enough the importance of getting your cholesterol checked, even if you're living a healthy, non-sedentary lifestyle - Dad did everything right he was just unlucky in his genes. He should have reached his retirement and lived a full life thereafter.
GET YOUR CHOLESTEROL CHECKED BY 30, especially if you're male and if you have a family history of high cholesterol, and you could avoid future heart problems, leaving it could be fatal. Early diagnosis could mean high cholesterol avoidance.
Heart UK are a fitting charity for us as they raise awareness about the risks of high cholesterol and fund research into improved treatment.
Any support and donations will be very much appreciated.
