Story
On the 13th of May I will be strapped to the wing of a 1940's Boeing Stearman biplane and flying over the beautiful countryside of Gloucestershire. I am undertaking this insane ordeal in order to raise money for the University Hospitals Birmingham Charity.
The UHB Charity supports patients, families and NHS staff across four hospitals in the West Midlands - Queen Elizabeth, Heartlands, Good Hope and Solihull, by providing 'added extras' that are over and above that which is provided by the NHS.
The underfunding of the NHS has been an ongoing issue for years, but during the pandemic it became even more apparent. Despite the staff's best intentions, they may not always be able to provide the care and services that they know their patients deserve. Help me to raise at least a small fraction of money to combat this disparity and bring joy to the patients, families and staff of the four hospitals forming the University Hospitals Birmingham Trust. This won’t change the NHS, but it will definitely make a huge difference to a few individuals.
