PTN projects are delivered locally by a team of full-time construction experts in the city of Pokhara who work with local communities to identify new projects, design the buildings and deliver construction work. The chairman of the NGO board in Nepal is the Co-Founder of the Trust, Chandra Bahadur Gurung. The team have significant working knowledge of the local communities in Nepal and the challenges faced for delivering construction and training to these remote areas.
Not only do they provide new schools within rural communities, but by employing a dedicated local team, we also provide valued employment opportunities to the Nepali community by working with local construction contractors to deliver projects.
Pahar Trust Nepal was founded by two friends and former Queen's Gurkha Engineers, Tom Langridge MBE and Chandra Bahadur Gurung with a mission to provide improved school buildings and education in the remote mountain communities of Nepal. For 200 years the Gurkhas have served Britain and over 43,000 have died in service. True to its origins and links to the Gurkhas the Trust continues to honour and support many of the Gurkha communities in Nepal.
