Sue Ryder is here to make sure everyone approaching the end of their life or living with grief can get the support they need. There is no one size fits all when it comes to how we cope and the help we need, but with our support, no one has to face dying or grief alone. We are there when it matters.

Story

Lisa (one of the Eggheads from the BBC2 quiz show) turned 40 on July 25, 2020. Early that year she noticed that Sue Ryder would be running 'Zip the Cow' on this date - a 270ft zip wire from the top of Cow and Calf Rocks on Ilkley Moor ('baht hat'). Being the risk-averse and generally non-thrill-seeking person she is, she immediately thought this would be a great way to spend her 40th birthday.

So having roped in the intrepid (and usually very sane) Lindsay to leap off alongside, we were all set until Covid made it impossible to run the 2020 event safely. But Sue Ryder weren't to be defeated and offered us all the chance to do it on July 24, 2021 instead. Somehow, Lindsay and Lisa still thought that putting their 40-butts on the line to do this was a good idea...and the rest is history.

Sue Ryder are asking for us to raise a minimum of £50 each. However, we've set our target at £145 because that's how much it costs to pay a hospice nurse for one day. If we could jump off knowing we'd given that support, we might even feel less terrified about doing it!

We're having a Facebook Live quiz on July 8 to raise some funds, hosted by Lisa - please do come along. Otherwise, if you know us, you'll realise how far out of our comfort zone we've strayed - so whether it's out of pity or out of hilarity, chuck us a few quid!
