CHUMS is a Mental Health and Emotional Wellbeing Service for children and young people in Bedfordshire. We support children who have been bereaved, traumatised or suffer with other mental health difficulties. With the right support we can help build resilience and give them hope for the future.

Story

www.twochumstakingonkili.wordpress.com

In October 2017 I am going to be climbing Mount Kilimanjaro with a small team from CHUMS.

CHUMS is a mental health and emotional wellbeing service for children and young people across Bedfordshire and it serves the county by giving young people access to support that they otherwise would not receive. The money I raise climbing Kili will be split between the many different services CHUMS provide including: bereavement, emotional wellbeing, trauma, crisis response and recreational therapeutic services (music and football).

To find out more about the work CHUMS do, please visit www.chums.uk.com or follow their Facebook page at www.facebook.com/chumscharity.

If you know me you will know how much of a challenge this will be...! Only 70% of everyone who climbs Kili makes it to the summit (5895 m), and this is partly due to altitude sickness. I will be trekking along the Lemosho route which will take us seven days to complete. We have opted for this slightly longer route to aid acclimatisation to help the whole team make it to the summit.

Please consider donating money to support me climbing Kili to raise money for this amazing charity.

Thank you.
