Story
We are fundraising to support the Welcome Organisation with Aaron from our Housing and Social Welfare Department running his first marathon in support the vital work of the Welcome Organisation. We have chosen to fundraise for the Welcome Organisation as our Housing and Social Welfare Department have assisted an increasing number of homeless clients and have seen first hand the effects of the social housing crisis in Belfast and throughout the North.
The Welcome Organisation does great work to support the homeless in Belfast. They assist around 1,300 people every year through their services including the following:
- A drop-in centre
- Street outreach service
- Crisis accommodation for women
- Floating support service
With approximately 11,858 applicants on social housing waiting lists our Housing and Social Welfare Department have also engaged with the NIHE to assist our clients in gaining suitable and appropriate accommodation. Homelessness is a growing issue throughout Ireland and is something that is preventable. So please help us support the Welcome Organisation and the homeless people of Belfast by donating anything you can!
