I will be honest. I never truly understood the importance of Willen Hospice. I never knew why it was important and why so many people are so passionate about helping them raise the money they need to say open.
That is...until I was there.
I have seen first hand the miracles the staff provide each day to the patients staying there and the families visiting. It's an amazing place full of love and comfort, full of people passionate about helping those in need.
A truly beautiful experience.
The problem is a simple one. Each year they need to raise £4.6 Million to keep their doors open and to keep helping families like mine. It's not a small amount of money by any means!
Although they are fortunate to receive £1million in grants it still leaves £3.6 Million that is needed so they can keep providing the care and support they do.
To help raise money I have set myself a difficult challenge. I will be rowing (Using a Concept2 Indoor Rower) 1,000,000 meters between now and 2016. This means rowing 11,000 meters each and every day for the next 92 days (From today).
Frankly, it will not be a walk in the park.
But this is where I need your help. My target is to raise £1,000.00.
