Luton SVG is set up to support the people of St Vincent, their families and friends at home and abroad. We provide personal, social and educational opportunities, as well as developing health and social care initiatives and interventions to ensure that they can have a good quality of life

Story

Glendon Jackson in partnership with the National Council of St Vincent and the Grenadines Association UK (NCSVG) and UK SVG Friendship Trust invite you to join them for an evening of music on the 26th June 2021 to raise funds to support the St Vincent Volcanic Recovery Programme.

Following a series of volcanic eruptions in April 2021, the people of St Vincent continue to experience many hardships and subsequent issues related to health and wellbeing. The concert is seeking to support those that have been disproportionately affected because of relocation to shelters and who are suffering from health-related illness and adverse mental health. Young people in particular have been highlighted as being adversely affected.

The Vincentian diaspora and friends in the UK are committed to providing psycho-social support to the children and young people who have been impacted or displaced due to the volcanic eruptions of La Soufriere.

The concert will be streamed from 8pm in the UK (3pm in SVG) with headline artists who include Vanessa Haynes, Daniel Louis, Rowland Sutherland, and the Commemoration Band.

Adaiah Providence-Culzac, Director of UK-SVG Friendship Trust, said, “The Trust is excited and grateful to be working with all stakeholders to raise much needed funds in support of the people of Saint Vincent and the Grenadines particularly our young people. We welcome this concert initiative as another brilliant opportunity to bring together people to achieve a common goal."

Deiana Stapleton, Chair of the NCSVGA asked us to, “…continue to draw together in adversity” adding that “our faith WILL see us through”.

Donations for the event will be coordinated by Luton St Vincent Association, Charity Number 1156342 which will be used by the organisers to support this cause.
