Operation Lock-Up · 23 February 2016
Operation Lock-up is to be held in Maidenhead custody suite from 23rd to 25th February 2016. This is a joint charity event between Thames Valley Police, it’s custodial partner agencies; Resource and Mountain Health Care Ltd. and the charity DrugFAM. The event will see DrugFAM Founder and CEO, Elizabeth Burton-Phillips and Chief Inspector Dave Cherrington, Force Custody Lead for Thames Valley Police, being held in a police cell whilst funds are raised in order to secure their release. Following this, a number of other police staff, managers and partners will also spend time held in a cell during a marathon event lasting 48 hours.
DrugFAM's three strategic aims are to provide support for family and friends affected by someone else's alcohol or drug misuse, to help those who have been bereaved by addiction and to provide education in schools and raise awareness of the impact of someone's addiction on families, friends and local communities.
Members of staff and partners of Thames Valley Police hope that as well as supporting a very important charity, it will be an opportunity to experience what it is like to be detained in custody first hand.
