Wiltshire Police Investigations Team, walking back to Wiltshire. "It's only 85 (ish) miles in 48 hours".

Being part of a team and seeing people fall ill is an unpleasant experience. Friends, family and our colleagues seem to be regularly suffering from Heart conditions. We all believed that there is nothing we could do to stop it or help.

Well a New Years resolution of getting fitter, has turned into an agreement amongst Swindon's finest Police team. Get fit and do something challenging for charity.

We decided that we needed to train for something. Something that deserved our effort and something Wiltshire Police could be proud of being a part of.

"Let's walk The Ridgeway, it's only 85 miles". Followed by "that's an idea, lets do it in less than 48 hours" came a reply. We all agreed and the challenge was set. We had our Challenge, now we needed to raise some money for Charity.

This page has been created to prevent any of us from backing out and I hope we can add a few more names to the list before we start training. 

Although this may not seem like a world record grabbing feat, for us it is more of a challenge than we care to admit. It means there will be 42.5 miles to cover each day and at our regular pace of about 3 MPH, it will take us around 14 hours a day just so we can cover half of The Ridgeway, that's not adding in the stops for food, rest or drinks. Then, after a short sleep we get to do it all again the next day.

Our aim is to finish at The Red Lion in Avebury sometime in the evening of the 6th before last orders.
