We believe every blind veteran should be able to lead the life they choose. At Blind Veterans UK we’re one, transformational team. We provide rehabilitation, training, practical advice and emotional support. Together we can help rebuild lives.

Story

Every year Optician's Editor, Chris Bennett, takes on a sporting challenge to help raise money for a sight care charity.

This year he is taking on the challenge of a Half Ironman distance triathlon called the Sussex Original. The event takes place around Ashburnham Place near Battle in Sussex. The event is made up of a 1,900m swim in Ashburnham's lake, cycling 80kms through the Sussex hills and running 20km through the venue's grounds.

Optician has long been a supporter of Blind Veterans UK and raised over £4,000 at this April's Optician Awards. Blind Veterans provides practical help to service men and women who are now suffering visual impairment.  So please  donate generously.
