Opus Trust Communications is raising funds for the Oxygen for India Emergency Appeal. Courtesy of our owner and chairman Peter De Haan, the Peter De Haan Charitable Trust will match every pound we raise up to £20,000.
You will have seen in the news the devastation facing India. Daily COVID-19 cases are the highest on record for any country, with over 20 million so far and already over 300,000 deaths.
The British Asian Trust founded by the Prince of Wales in 2007 has launched an Oxygen for India Emergency Appeal to raise funds for oxygen concentrators and, together with partners in India, will deploy them to hospitals and patients most in need. Oxygen concentrators are an alternative to oxygen cylinders and work by recycling oxygen from the air and delivering it to the patient. Each unit can produce 500 litres of oxygen per minute, enough for 50 people to use at a time.
A donation of £50 will provide oxygen for 40 patients struggling to breathe. £450 will provide low-flow oxygen concentrators to help 900 patients and an £830 donation will provide high-flow oxygen to help 550 of the most seriously ill patients.
Thank you for your support - and don't forget, every pound you give will be matched.
