Story
For the second time in four years, I have chosen to participate in a sponsored run in aid of Sudbury's Bridge Project, a charity established in 1995 to provide support in a carefully structured, caring environment and in a wide range of contexts for vulnerable adults with disabilities.
The organisation's profile has helped to create numerous opportunities for work and employment, as well as many vocational qualifications and transferable skills that help to further each individual's future prospects. Social skills training and weekly craft activities are also very much a fundamental part of encouraging and fostering development on a personal level. As the sibling of an older brother who is a part of the Bridge Project and Bradbury Courtyard, I have been able to see first-hand much of what has been achieved and how he has directly benefited from a sense of involvement as part of a community.
The charity's running has been and is still made possible through generous donors and sponsorship schemes; in light of this however, it is crucial that it continues to receive the financial aid it deserves in order to secure a stable future for its members.
