Orienteering · 2 June 2020

At Alzheimer’s Society we’re working towards a world where dementia no longer devastates lives. We do this by giving help to those living with dementia today, and providing hope for the future by campaigning to make dementia the priority it should be and funding groundbreaking research.

Story

Dementia is not the end, it is the start of something new. This is something I believe in passionately. I have a show Orienteering, I explore the real life experiences of a dementia carer, the challenges of caring, the enormity of bereavement. I want to raise awareness, aiming to impart skills that empower the carer. To give a voice to their experience. Too often the wider support network is neglected. Orienteering also informs the family and friends of carers, care staff, social workers and the medical profession of ways to enhance the support and care they give.

From time to time I will be running other fund-raising events to raise money for the Altzheimer's Society. I will use this page for those too.
