Story
Not many of you know this but I was raised for most of my life in a family dependent entirely on a mother. She raised me and my 6 sibling’s singlehandedly, with no extended family support, no education and very little English, in a strange new country.
Until we were old enough to work for ourselves, life was difficult, but my mother would reassure us that our time would come when we were older and to have patience.
I’ve had some severe ups and downs in my
life that I don’t talk to most people about, but I always know my mum is there
with an open ear and an open heart to share my burdens.
I never thought I’d be given the chance to
study Medicine here at a world renowned university like King’s College London,
for which I am endlessly thankful. But I simply would not be here without God
and my mother.
When I heard about MAA and the incredible
ethos they have nurtured from a simple yet vital idea, to provide support to
incredible women like my mother, I knew this was something I HAVE to support.
Many mothers like mine can’t help the cards
that life has dealt them; who make the most of the resources they have
available to them.
My intention is to fundraise so that I am
able to travel and help set up maternal healthcare clinics in Bangladesh,
specific to antenatal care, to provide an education which will enrich the lives
of not just one child but the next generation.
This is MAA’s pioneering trip which we hope
will set a foundation to not only have a lasting impact on Bangladesh’s
healthcare infrastructure but one day the world’s.
Please show your support by donating as
much as you can.
You can become part of something beautiful.
You can.
