American Lung Association - Lip Sync For Lungs 2019

Lip Sync For Lungs Charleston · 27 September 2019
Hi Friends!
Thank you. Thank you for allowing me to share my passion for helping others, and for being an ally.
People rarely achieve amazing feats by themselves. That's why I'm lucky to have you. There are many just like you and me, who want to do something incredible alongside other likeminded people. That's why I'm calling on you to join me and help build a better tomorrow.
Spreading awareness of lung-related illnesses and fundraising for the American Lung Association is very personal to me. My mother recently received a diagnosis confirming she has COPD, and several other family members have lung-related aliments, which impact them every day. I'm sure you may also be able to quickly identify a friend or a family member who suffers from a lung-related illness.
The campaign I'm taking part in, Lip Sync for Lungs, benefits the American Lung Association and is the most ambitious fundraiser I've ever attempted. Four fellow fundraisers and I have challenged ourselves to an individual goal to raise $10,000.00 each. On September 26th, 2019, after our fundraising efforts, we're talking over Charleston Music Hall (Charleston, S.C.) for a Lip Sync battle royale. **I'm confident this campaign will be a success. Let me tell you why.**
I'm a veteran of war, drag queen, and social "Goode" activist. In my experience, I've grown to believe in the strength of togetherness and the power found within bringing your authentic self to everything you do. The vibrancy and energy you radiate when you're yourself is alluring. That is why I've chosen to fundraise under my drag persona, Oshi Goode. I've seen success time and time again when people from unique backgrounds and experiences unite with a singular goal in mind.
I'm taking a different approach to this effort because representation is an essential component that unites communities. Disease doesn't discriminate; neither should we.
I belong to a few communities which are deeply impacted by lung disease and lung cancer. There are several disparity areas where the American Lung Association focuses its efforts, such as:
Women - Veterans - People Living in Rural Communities - The Hispanic Community - The African American Community - The LGBTQ+ Community
Please donate today and help me spread the word by sharing this on social media with your reason why you want to see this effort succeed. I'd love for you to join my team - just email me at oshi.goode@gmail.com and we can make that happen. (minimal lift, no time commitment)
Don't forget to tag #oshigoode on Facebook and @itsmeoshi on Instagram, so I can individually thank each and every one of you! You are the magic that makes the world a better place.
Thank you again for taking a moment to learn a bit more about this meaningful cause, and for any generous contribution or promotion on your social media channels.
Live with love, Oshi Goode ♡
