Story

Hi guys.

On the 10th July we will be joining Muslim Hands for the Zip World Velocity Challenge in Snowdonia, Wales. It is the longest zip wire in Europe and the fastest anywhere in the world, reaching speeds of up to 100 mph.

Between the 2 of us we are hoping to hit a fundraising target of (at least) £800. This year the cause is education. Education is a key that unlocks countless opportunities. It is a way out of poverty, a driving force for social change and an important aspect of personal development and welfare. Therefore, it is at the heart of the work that Muslim Hands do.

Funds raised will go towards needy orphans around the world. This ranges from modest classrooms serving isolated communities that would otherwise not have access to schooling, to campuses serving large groups of poor and disadvantaged children.
As well as establishing their own schools, Muslim Hands run a varied range of educational programmes in several different areas. This gives those who may have missed out on educational opportunities or those who have specific educational needs, the support they require to progress in life.
Whether it be supporting specialised learning for deaf children in Somalia or creating the future Hafiz-ul Quran in Bangladesh, the work Muslim Hands do in education is all about providing opportunities that empower people to build a better future for themselves.

We will of course be giving feedback on the event and how the funds raised are being used, so that those donating can see how their donations have been used. Those that are familiar with this by now know how it works! Of course the event is also dependant on the COVID-19 situation i.e no more restrictions or lockdown, but we pray and hope neither of these are going to be a factor.

Please consider any donations as your sadaqah this Ramadan. JazakAllah khair.
