London Marathon 2018 · 22 April 2018 ·

Green spaces are good and do good. They are where we move, breathe, run and play. They help us stay physically and mentally well, bring communities together, combat loneliness and are vital for climate change mitigation. We work to stop the cycle of decline and disappearance many green spaces face.

Story

This year Our Parks are raising money for Fields In Trust, we have set the bar high for this challenge. Lee Prentice (Our Parks coach in Hillingdon) will train a Hillingdon Parker Susan Gray to complete the couch to London Marathon Challenge! Susan had no previous experience in running until April 2017 when she decided she would like to challenge herself, she is a 53-year-old mother of three that works full-time so fitting in a hectic training schedule has been very hard.

Why Are We Running the London Marathon?

By delivering exercise classes outside every week, we know that parks and open spaces play such an important role for people leading more active healthy lives and we are fortunate enough to help a cause that keeps these spaces maintained, so they can be enjoyed for years to come.

To date this year Lee & Susan have run:

- The London 10km

- The London Big Half

The dedication to this huge challenge has been amazing and we wish Lee & Susan the very best of luck!!!

You can follow Lee & Susan on their marathon journeys through the Our Parks Twitter page or you can also see updates on our Just giving page.
We are looking forward to seeing both Lee & Susan in the marathon and we hope you can help us support the cause.

All donations made will be spent protecting parks, playing fields and green spaces across the UK.
