Story
Ms Toth, Mr Carter, Ms Neary, Mr Scholes and Ms Shkreli from Our Lady’s Catholic High School will be running for the ‘Reach Out’ charity at the Hackney Half Marathon on Sunday the 22nd of May. Some other staff members such as Virginia and Shreena have also signed up for different charities/running clubs.
They will be raising vital funds for ‘ReachOut’. It would be great if you could help us reach their fundraising goal of £1250.
Why ReachOut?
ReachOut is a mentoring charity that gives amazing support to young people from economically disadvantaged communities.
There is a clear link between early disadvantage and low attainment, which traps young people into a cycle of poverty. Reach Out’s mentoring works to change this, giving disadvantaged young people one-to-one support to improve their academic attainment, character, confidence and behaviour.
‘We help them to develop their character, raise aspirations and improve their Academic attainment through long-term one-to-one mentoring to help them achieve their potential and go on to lead good, happy and successful lives. Alongside our in-person mentoring programmes, we have also launched Reach Out Home, our new online mentoring programme developed as a response to COVID-19. Reach Out Home supports our young people’s emotional wellbeing, with a particular focus on character education and building skills to navigate our ‘new normal’.
