We are moving further, faster to help everyone affected by a brain tumour

Story

In 1987, I first played OutRun in an arcade on the south coast of England. I would have been 7 years old at the time, and it had a huge influence on my love of gaming and ultimately my career decision to work in the video game industry.

I never lost my love of OutRun. 10 years later, in 1997, I managed to buy a battered cabinet from the RGVAC newsgroup. It lived in my parent's garage, much to their annoyance, until I moved somewhere sensible enough to accommodate it.

By 2009, I started decompiling and documenting the OutRun codebase. This led to projects such as OutRun: Enhanced Edition and CannonBall. I poured a huge amount of time into these projects - ultimately years of spare time.

Unfortunately, back in 2015, I was diagnosed with a brain tumour. Brain tumours are the biggest cancer killer of children and adults under 40. I am lucky, in that my tumour has only been growing slowly. But many others are not fortunate enough to have such a long runway to enjoy life.

If you appreciate using OutRun: Enhanced Edition or one of my other projects, please consider making an optional donation to this page and helping others.
