Update

I made it home having covered 382 miles on tough roads. I nearly didn't make it to the start when my clutch started to play up halfway across the North Yorks Moors, but Owen got me going again.

I had a fine start in Scarborough and a good run to Morecambe with no troubles.

The drive home wasn't too good as I sprung an oil leak just above the disrtibutor and started to misfire quite badly. Pam navigated a more gentle route home and I got them both home.

Thanks to all who donated to this worthy cause. There's still time for more donations.

 

Hi, I'm Numbum,. I'm a 76 year old MG TA. Born in 1937 I'm still going well.

In May, my owners, Pam & Owen are going to drive me on a trip across England from Scarborough to Morecambe. The cross country route is about 160 miles and adding in the mileage to the start and back home I expect to cover around 350 miles.

Day 1. Home to Scarborough

Day 2. Scarborough to Morecambe then on to Lancaster for B&B

Day 3. Lancaster to home.

Day 1 & 3 we will be travelling alone. On Day 2 we will have the company of others on the run.

This will be quite a challenge for a 76 year old car, but I have high hopes that I'll complete the run, hopefully without problems.

With my owners I have travelled many miles over the years and decided to dedicate this run to a worthy cause.

Regardless of the weather this run will be top down all the way.

Heart problems can affect anybody at any age and more research is always needed to help to keep more people alive, so our selected charity is The British Heart Foundation.

I've set a modest target for our fundraising which I hope will be easily beaten by your collective efforts. 

I realise that money is tight in this current economic climate but every donation counts, no matter how small so please help us to raise some much needed cash for a great cause.
