Cycling gives me headspace, its challenging but simple. All you have to do is turn the pedals and you will keep moving forward. This seems simple, but just like life it isn't always like this. 

The construction industry has a mental health crisis, it doesn't discriminate - Age, gender, wealth, race, occupation - Poor mental health is the biggest cause of death in the industry. Per 100,000 we will lose 73 to suicide each year  (2018). 

7 Cyclists will undertake the full route taking 9 days from Amsterdam to Monaco, with 7 more including me, joining them in Zurich for the final 4 days of riding. Knowing before we start that it will be a challenge, we are trusting that if any of our team struggles everyone will help them get through it. It all starts with a conversation.

Mates in Mind is a leading UK charity raising awareness and addressing the stigma of poor mental health. We promote and lead on the development of positive mental wellbeing within the workplace. Mates in Mind works across industries, focusing on construction, as well as related sectors including transport, logistics, manufacturing, and others.Mates in Mind aims to provide clear information to employers about the available support and guidance on mental health and wellbeing, and how they can address this within their organisations.
