Story
What started as a friendly ‘kick about’ on Christmas Eve 11 years ago, has now turned into an annual football fundraiser on Christmas Eve where we support charities that are relative to members of our group whose families/friends have been sadly affected by illnesses or unfortunate circumstances. Last year we managed to raise £635 for Dementia UK, and £400 the year before for Cancer Research UK. In previous years we have raised money and donated food to local food banks, as well as donating food to our local homeless shelter on Christmas Eve.
For our 2022 Christmas Eve Football match we would like to support ‘The Brain Tumour Charity’, as cancer has affected a few families and friends within our group, as well as currently affecting the Mother of one of our group who is terminally ill with glioblastoma at the moment.
The Brain Tumour Charity is the world's leading brain tumour charity and the largest dedicated funder of research into brain tumours globally. Committed to saving and improving lives, we're moving further, faster to help every single person affected by a brain tumour. We're set on finding new treatments, offering the highest level of support and driving urgent change. And we're doing it right now. Because we understand that when you, or someone you love, is diagnosed with a brain tumour a cure really can't wait.
Please donate as much as you can and please don’t forget to share the link to this page across social media platforms so we can raise as much as possible - you can make a huge difference!
Thank you and Merry Christmas! Owen and the boys x
