Story
The crew left yesterday - a misty Monday morning in Wick. They are heading straight for Reine on Moskenes. Speed is good at 10 knots. At this rate they could be there by Thursday and have time to explore ashore. Click on the news page at www.oytscotland.org.uk to keep up to date.
The guys have done really well with all their fundraising - thanks to all their sponsors - but they are facing a real challenge in sailing Alba Endeavour across the North Sea. Some of them had little or no sailing experience before signing up. It would be great if you could support them now by clicking through to make a donation. You'll be supporting adventure under sail for young people who couldn't otherwise afford to take part. Let's get that total up to 100%.
Please sponsor our Arctic Challengers now!
Donating through Justgiving is quick, easy and totally secure. It’s also the most efficient way to sponsor the crew: Ocean Youth Trust Scotland gets your money faster and, if you’re a UK taxpayer, Justgiving makes sure 25% in Gift Aid, plus a 3% supplement, are added to your donation. Thank you.
About the Arctic Challenge
Forget Kilimanjaro, this is a real challenge right on our doorstep. On Monday 13th July 12 volunteer crew accompanied by 6 of our sea staff are setting sail from Wick across the North Sea bound for the Arctic Circle. They'll be sailing aboard Alba Endeavour a 72' ocean-racing yacht. If they make it, they'll get to explore the stunning Lofoten islands, before heading home to Scotland for Friday 24th July.
