Story
Thanks for taking the time to visit my JustGiving page.
I'm supporting my friend Steve Clark in his amazing Strive for Five to Beat Bowel Cancer campaign. Steve was diagnosed with advanced bowel cancer four years ago and has achieved so much since then. While he strives to mark his five years since diagnosis goal, he is also working hard to raise awareness and funds for Beating Bowel Cancer and get some important messages across about the disease.
Watch this space for more information but you can find our more about the lovely Steve and Strive for Five on twitter.com/StriveforfiveBC and on facebook.com/striveforfiveBC.
Many of you will know that my wonderful (and also incredible) Mum also has advanced bowel cancer, and I have other family and friends who have also been affected so it's something that is close to my heart.
Beating Bowel Cancer is a fantastic small charity that does a great job in support and campaigning, so please help me help them, via Strive for Five to Beat Bowel Cancer.
Now pre-babies I did do a little bit of half-hearted running, even if it was just to try and give the impression of being active to some of the younger more motivated types around me at the time.... But....I think I can run. Sort of. But since the babies, well I've not exactly been active and in my 'leisure time' (ha!) I've been mostly found on my bum with a glass of wine or ten and Masterchef or Made in Chelsea on catch-up. I need all the moral support I can get, but in supporting Steve's campaign and Beating Bowel Cancer I have pretty good motivation to get off my backside and do this.
For those of you who know (and likely doubt) me - please believe me when I say I mean this and I promise I will not let anyone who sponsors me down or take your money for a leisurely walk around the park thinking about the history of London's green spaces - am actually going to run.
Thanks very much for all your support, TV personalities too (thank you Mr Matthew Wright for the exposure that Strive for Five to Beat Bowel Cancer deserves!!!!)
Wish me luck
Pip
