I have worked in the racing industry for the last 21 years and I live and breathe my horses, to me its a way of life, not a job.

Earlier this year I was diagnosed with degenerative disk disease and spinal alignment issues. Which causes me severe pain, not only affecting my work and my ability to do my job but also began to affect my home life where basic activities became difficult.
Racing Welfare has not only provided fantastic support and guidance but is assisting with my rehabilitation programme, of which the Great North Run is part of. It is hoping that this rehabilitation and also a change of lifestyle will help me enjoy a longer period of time within the industry that I love and my working life.
