March is the beginning of Women's History Month and Pace Miami's 7th Anniversary. In honor of Women's History Month and our 7th Anniversary we are looking to raiser $1000 a year we have been open. Help Pace Miami raise $7000 and more this month for our Pace Miami Program!
Since March 6, 2014 Pace Miami has enrolled over 800 girls from the ages of 11-17 born into a multi-generational cycle of poverty, who are failing in school, not going to school or have involvement with the Department of Juvenile Justice. 63% of our Girls have been suspended or expelled from school, 53% of parents or siblings have been in prison or are on probation and 90% suffer from victimization. 100% of our Girls have experienced some form of trauma. This results in our community’s girls being high risk for criminal justice system involvement and failing academics. The need that Pace addresses is twofold: keeping the Girls out of the Juvenile Justice system and succeeding within the school system. The goal is for our Girls to be in school, higher education or employed after completing Pace Miami, giving our Girls the opportunity to break that multi-generational cycle of poverty of which they were born into.
Pace Miami outcomes are:
1) Minimizing the number of Girls going into the Juvenile Justice system. Measurement: one year after Girls leave Pace, 93% have no Juvenile Justice system involvement.
2) Increasing our Girls Scholastic standing. Measurement: 96% of our Girls improve academically at Pace Miami. All activities are monitored and measured through our “Pace Impact” database.
Our program is evidence-based and Pace Girls transition back to their home schools empowered and ready for success.
