PACES provides sports programs to Palestinian children in marginalised areas and refugee camps in Palestine, Jordan and Lebanon. Through our programs, we encourage positive behavioral change by teaching the children the importance of respect, commitment, teamwork, sportsmanship, and ethics.

Story

PACES will return to Norway in July of this year after a two-year hiatus. We are raising funds to take four teams; two girls’ teams and two boys’ teams to Oslo to participate in the Norway Cup. Almost 50 children will spend over a week playing, learning, and having fun. Our highly experienced coaches and team leaders will accompany the children.

We do not go to win; far from it. We take the children on what could be their only break from the oppressive conditions under which they live in order to show them a different culture, one particularly known for its freedom and inclusiveness. We also take the children, and teach them well, so that they become good ambassadors able to convey and project a positive image about Palestine.

However, when we do win the tournament, and we have in the past, it is a great feeling of achievement and pride for all of us. We always leave Norway having made good friends and great memories.

Your collective donations will cover the total cost of the plane tickets, accommodation, registration fees, uniforms, and food. The donations will also cover entry fees to museums and historical sites around Oslo. We need to raise a total of $120,000, as each team will cost $30,000.

We thank you for your support.
