Skip's paddle against plastic · 19 August 2017

Surfers Against Sewage (SAS) is a charity set up in 1990 by people sick of seeing the ocean they love polluted. We campaign to protect the ocean and all it makes possible, by taking action on the ground that triggers change from the top. We're calling for an end to sewage and plastic pollution.

Story

In August I'll attempt to paddle from Falmouth to Swanage in a Polynesian outrigger canoe (te va'a).
I'll also be doing beach cleans along the way.
I invite you to get involved & help promote the issue of plastic in our oceans. You can assist by doing any of the following:
-Join me on the water. Bring your kayak, SUP etc.
-Join me on a beach clean.
-Become a member of Surfers against Sewage & get involved in the great work they do.
-Refuse single use: refuse a straw, get a reusable coffee cup, use your own shopping bags, buy a bamboo toothbrush, use a refillable water bottle, choose fruit & veg not wrapped in plastic, stop using coffee pods (my bad habit), try a moon cup... There's loads of small changes that each of us can make.
-DONATE to this page! It's not all about money; awareness & changing habits are important. But if you can chuck some coppers in the pot, it would help SAS continue with the great work that they do.
-Get involved with some of the other great conservation movements E.g. #2minutebeachclean, BalloonsBlow.org, Sea Sheperd etc.
