Event: The Dart 10k swim, on 4 September 2022
Participants: Jimmy Edmonds
My challenge is to swim from Totnes to Dittisham on the River Dart - 10kms. As one of the UK's premier open water events the Dart 10K is not for the faint hearted but I'll be swimming in memory of my son Josh and to raise funds for our charity.

Story

I'm swimming the Dart 10K to support and help raise funds for The Good Grief Project. All money we raise will help bereaved families on low incomes attend one of their Active Grief Weekends. These residential retreats are especially designed to support bereaved parents and siblings who have experienced the death of a child (of any age). The aim is to help them find new and creative ways of expressing their grief. The Good Grief Project organizes 3 weekends annually, each one costing around £14,000 and although some parents can contribute to the cost (usually £250-£350 a head) we want them to be available to everyone, especially those on low incomes. Thank you so much for your support. For more info please visit https://thegoodgriefproject.co.uk/active/

About the charity

The Good Grief Project is dedicated to an understanding of grief as an on going, active and creative process, particularly as it applies to grief following the death of a son or daughter. We advocate for and support bereaved families by helping them realise the creative potential of their grief.
