Airedale Hospital & Community Charity is the dedicated charity of Airedale NHS Foundation Trust. We support the staff, patients and communities of Airedale across 700 miles of West & North Yorkshire and East Lancashire. Our mission is to support ANHSFT to enhance patient care and employee wellbeing.

Story

There are more than 100,000 strokes in the UK each year, that is around one stroke every five minutes in the UK.

Around 1 in 6 men and 1 in 5 women will have a stroke in their life.

Here on the stroke unit at Airedale Hospital we are raising money to buy equipment that will improve the quality of our patients stay.

The length of stay for a patient suffering a stroke can range from one day to up to around three months depending on the severity of the stroke. We aim to provide activities on the unit to improve the quality and experience of this stay but equipment constantly needs replacing/updating.

At the moment on the wish list is some new patient/family seating for the day room, televisions for the side rooms, garden furniture for the patio area, a record player as well as a continual supply of arts and crafts materials.

Thank you for your kind support and donation.
