Make 2nds Count is dedicated to making people living with secondary breast cancer count. We do this by raising funds to support specialist research into secondary breast cancer, extending and improving the quality of life for patients battling against this treatable yet incurable disease.

Story

In memory of my amazing sister Tracy Jardine I’m taking part in the Cardiff half marathon along with friends Ashleigh and Lisa Greenan. We are hoping to raise money to support a fantastic charity Make 2nds Count. The charity was set up by one of Tracy’s friends when they both got diagnosed with secondary breast cancer around the same time. The charity raises valuable funds to support research into secondary breast cancer.

Secondary breast cancer is breast cancer which has spread from the breast to other parts of the body. Although secondary breast cancer can be treated, there is no cure. Unlike those living with primary breast cancer, there is no end of treatment, there is no remission. It’s estimated that 35,000 people are currently living with secondary breast cancer in the UK yet only 7% of the National funding for cancer goes towards this incurable disease. Make 2nds Count aim to address this imbalance. Please give generously!
