Story

Thank you for visiting this page.

We would like to request that donations be made to Macmillan instead of sending flowers to Mum's funeral.

Pamela Munro died at Victoria Hospital in Kirkcaldy on 26th August 2017 after a long hard fight with metastatic breast cancer in her liver & bones.

The funeral will be held on Thursday 7th September at 10:30am at Pittenweem Coastline Community Church. She will be laid to rest at Pittenweem Cemetery with her beloved Wallace Reekie who left us 14 years ago this month. She never recovered from losing him and now they are reunited.

Our Mum was a loving, funny lady with a big heart and an obsession with her Scottie Dog, Wallace, whom she named after her lost love because of the massive likeness between them.... Hairy faces, funny feet, stubborn personalities, large noses & bushy eyebrows hahaha.

In June of 2017 us 3 kids (Kirsty, Alistair & Robbie) walked a marathon hike around Loch Lomond in aid of Macmillan. At this time Mum was in the Victoria Hospice in Kirkcaldy which is a Macmillan funded facility that offers care to all people living with cancer. Mum loved this hospice, the care that was offered to her here was invaluable and the "Cancer Club" (as she called it) on a Friday where she could mix with other women living with cancer was the highlight of her week.

She enjoyed arts & crafts, physiotherapy, massage, beauty treatments & many other treats at Cancer Club as well as finding a supportive community of fellow cancer-living friends and so we would like to fund Macmillan to be able to continue offering comforting & entertaining services like these to women like our Mum in the future, as well as the conventional acute care setting with a wonderful focus on patient-centred care.

This fund has been requested by members of her online community who are simply too far away to join us any other way.

This money is sent straight to Macmillan, not the family.

Thank you x
