Story

My grandfather suffered from Parkinson’s Disease throughout my whole childhood and I never really understood the full extent of his symptoms. He struggled for 18 years and as I grew older and his symptoms worsened, I never fully got the chance to appreciate the man my mother admired so much.

Since then Parkinson's has affected others in my life that I am close to.

Learning about Parkinson’s has been eye opening. I was particularly moved by the BBC documentary that came out earlier this year. https://www.bbc.co.uk/programmes/m0002tjw . I was touched by Tom Isaacs’ story and spirit and his determination to find a cure.

The Cure Parkinson's Trust is the only organisation in the UK solely dedicated to finding a cure for Parkinson's. CPT was founded in 2005 by four people living with the condition and so it takes a patient-centric approach to funding innovative projects and inspirational scientists to modify the progression of Parkinson's and to find a cure.At CPT, we believe we are closer than ever to new treatments. We are committed to funding research that for the first time will slow, stop or even reverse the progression of Parkinson's.
