Story
Having spent a large chunk of the past few years working on a TV show where I got paid to play football (something I do for enjoyment anyway) I wanted to give something back, so I decided to set off on a journey where I would leave a trail of footballs and mini-goalposts dotted along my route in the hope that it'll give those who stumble across them after me little moments of joy.
For some unknown reason, I decided it would also be a good idea that the trip involve running the Paris Marathon on 17th October, cycling 1000km+ in the general direction of Athens and then taking part in the original Marathon to Athens race on 14th November, so that's precisely what I'm doing.
Think of me as a rubbish Father Christmas, with a bike instead of reindeer, and footballs instead of the presents kids actually want.
In all seriousness though, there's a very strong possibility I'll die, so please donate to make it worth it. If you'd rather not donate, ask a friend you haven't spoken to for a while if they're okay. If you'd rather not ask a friend if they're okay, buy a football and leave it in a park somewhere because I guarantee it'll make someone's day when they find it.
