Story
The Reason I've aimed to raise money for Sue Ryder since they took such excellent care of my mother, Angela, during her last weeks. For those not familiar with the Sue Ryder Foundation, they are a charity who run hospices and provide palliative care; their staff have a poise and strength that allows you deal with a situation that you hope to never meet, and for helping mum to die with dignity, and in peace I am eternally grateful. To help provide that care for others is worthy of huge effort. Also it well worth noting that all donations will be matched by my employer BP.
The Plan Chris is is marking the transition into his 5th decade by discovering the hitherto unexplored arena of "fitness". It therefore would be rude for the younger sibling not to propose some physical challenges; not only to test Chris's "poor man's mid-life crisis" but also to raise money for a fantastic cause.
The Challenge The first challenge is to complete the world's biggest obstacle course, spread over 20 miles (http://ratrace.com/dirtyweekend/). Never having run that far (with or without obstacles), and with both Chris and I being built "for comfort not for speed" it will be a considerable challenge.
