Step up for 30
Campaign by Bowel Cancer UK (RCN 1071038)
Throughout June its time to Step up for 30. Its really simple, just get active each day and ask people to sponsor you.

Story

Just as the pandemic was taking hold, Pat received a diagnosis for Stage 2 Bowel Cancer. His surgery was two weeks into lockdown, and only available to him because of his health and fitness; the doctors knew he would be discharged from hospital quickly and therefore the risk of contracting COVID-19 in the hospital was lowered.

His recovery from surgery is going well, and this is only because of his existing levels of fitness. We want to raise awareness of the importance of good health and to raise money for the charity whose information became vital in the absence of the usual face to face appointments you'd receive outside of a pandemic.

***EDIT 15TH JUNE*** Lisa is aiming to cover the 300 miles of her own during June. See the Strava post below for the details, but the £2020 target is for marking a year full of challenges to try and balance it out a bit.
