Story

Riding Lands End to John o’Groats has long been on my bucket list and I’ve spent too many years talking about it. And as next year I celebrate / commiserate my 50th birthday I wanted to mark the occasion by fulfilling this dream while raising money for a superb cause.

As many of you know, cancer has impacted my family over the years and in the last two years alone, two close family members have been blighted by this illness. It is a frightening and terrifying time for everyone involved, not only the for the person diagnosed but for family and friends

However, one thing has been constant over the years and that is the unwavering support of the Macmillan nurses. It’s a huge cliche to say they are angels but I can honestly say without the support of Macmillan some of those horrible dark moments would have been a whole lot worse.

So with this in mind myself and my nephew, Sam, have chosen to put ourselves  through 9 days worth of pain and torture in the vain attempt to give something back and hopefully raise lots of money for an amazing cause. We set off from Lands End and will slowly (and I emphasise the word slowly) meander our way across the length of the country, hopefully finishing in John o’Groats in one (slightly broken) piece.

Any money you can donate, no matter how big or small, will be hugely appreciated.
