Patience: Raising funds for 'Acting for Others' · 4 May 2020
PATIENCE: THE AUDIO DRAMA is a 2-scene excerpt from Patience: The Name of Revenge, the new play by Jake Smith, which has been adapted for audio and made available, for free, online.
Performers from All over Britain, and across the pond in America, have come together to create this production, with the aim of raising money to help theatre workers who desperately need support in these crazy times.
Acting for Others said "For every successful theatre worker, there are hundreds of actors, dancers, musicians, lighting technicians, wardrobe staff, front of house, backstage workers who are not so fortunate. Acting for Others is here to provide not only financial but emotional support to all theatre workers in times of need through the 14 member charities. At this difficult time for all, the theatre industry needs you support more than ever. With the closure of theatre, tens of thousands of theatre workers across the UK are facing unemployment and financial uncertainty for a number of months. We thank you all for supporting the theatre community at this time."
Jake Smith said "This is a terrifying time. Sat at home, watching the world go crazy around me, I wanted to create something to keep people joyful. A little ripple in a big pond can go a long long way. To be able to use this project not only to provide free entertainment, but hopefully to raise a bit of money for people in need, many of whom are my friends and collegues, is not only an honour, but a duty. If you have enjoyed PATIENCE, please please donate to this fundraiser, every penny helps. You are going a wonderful thing for people in a scary place."
