Story

On Thursday 28th January we lost not only one of our loyalist and dedicated members, but our loved and dearest friend Allan Stone. 'Stoney' was the life and soul of our gym, he had the magic to make anyone laugh in his presence, a huge ball of love, laughter and light. Stoney not only attended our gym but was always the first person to sign up for any charity event. The more brutal the challenge, the better. Can you believe he completed the SAS fitness test ’The Fan Dance’ when he was waiting for a hip replacement. Even more so the time that he completed an hours worth of burpees in his back garden (after his hip replacement) at 3am in the pouring rain, only to get a few hours sleep and have do it all again at 9am. All in the name of charity. That was the kind of person he was. Every charity event he done with us was under the BLACK SHEEP WARRIORS team and I guarantee the first name that was down for any event was his. So it's very fitting we will be completing this huge challenge in his memory and honour. Stoney's Black Sheep Warriors will be completing the David Goggins 4x4x48 challenge. This involves running 4 miles, every 4 hours for 48 hours. Our first 4 mile run will start at 8pm on Friday 5th March, finishing at 8pm on Sunday 7th March. Which will be Stoney's 47th Birthday. The charity we are raising funds and awareness for is the SADS (Sudden Arrhythmic Death Syndrome) UK charity- Help Save Lives. The sudden death of a child, young person or healthy adult is traumatic and devastating. This is why SADS UK donates cardiac equipment to save lives. Heart monitors and event recorders identify abnormal heart rhythms that must be treated. Any donations no matter how small would be hugely appreciated. LEGENDS NEVER DIE!
