We are a group of Parents; Cath, Martin, Gaynor, Trish, Ben, Amrit and 6th form student Aedan, at the The John Roan School . We are taking part in the Vitality Big Half on Sunday 4th September, to raise as much money as we can to help towards activities, educational and reward/incentive trips for our students.

A PTA is such an important part of school life, helping not just to raise funds but to help parents meet other parents and give teachers and parents the opportunity to also get to know each other.

Fundraising is an important part of the The John Roan School Association. But where does the money that you raise, get invested?

All money from fundraising events accumulates in the JRSA BIDDING POT*. At the beginning of the calendar year, the amount available is presented to subject departments. Teachers can then put their bid in to request the funding of a project or student trip. This year, bids were received from various subject departments and were approved by the Committee:

£720 for GOLDEN TICKET PRIDE PRIZES

£690 contribution towards the Yr11 Prom

£1130 towards the cost of extra stationery, ensuring all students are equipped and ready to learn.

£400 for a Yr7 incentive trip.

£500 contribution towards a Yr10 kayaking course to help GCSE PE students in their practical examinations.

It is so rewarding to see how this money is put to use and how it really helps all our teachers and students to have these additional funds available.  We know that times are tough for many in the current climate so any amount you can donate is very appreciated.  Thank You!   We have been putting in our training and all hope to make it round in good time!!
