Story

Thank you for taking the time to visit my JustGiving page.

Over the years I've had the privilege of seeing first hand the hard work that Matt and Bex put into Arctic One. While at one of their events the Junior Para Triathlon, I witnessed the joy written all over the faces of the young para athletes as they participated.. The courage and determination to overcome their disabilities as they competed that day left me left wanting to help and get more involved in some way, and so the 12 event challenge was born. I started this back in September 2020 and aimed to complete by September 2021.These events included ultra swims, cycling, running and triathlons.

I was able to complete 11 of the 12 challenges, but the final one was cancelled due to restrictions still in place at the time.

So to hopefully complete the challenge starting on the 19th July I will be at the beginning of 5 very long days trying to complete the DecaUK Quin. This is 5 ironman distance triathlons. Swim/Bike/Run 2.4/112/26 miles everyday for 5 days.

As a warm up event on the 29th April I will also be attempting to run the the South Downs ( 3 ultra marathons over 3 days).

After this I am retiring from endurance events and buying a surfboard.

Arctic One believes that sport should be accessible to all and aims to provide individuals and groups with disabilities the opportunity to get involved in sport and become more active. The charity mainly achieves this through their events and training days and their “Forward Motion” grant system.
