Story
It is that time of year again!!
I am embarking again on running the London Marathon for the Circulation Foundation.
Why am I doing this?
Firstly, I like a challenge. 26 + miles is a long way, the training is tough but race day is a fantastic experience with awesome crowds and support. I would encourage anyone who is thinking of running it to go for it.
The main reason however is to continue to support the fundraising efforts of the Circulation Foundation. Vascular disease is becoming increasingly common within the UK and is a leading cause of death. I have been fortunate to have received funding from the Circulation Foundation to support my research and want to give something back in return. As a member of the Vascular Society committee I have seen firsthand the ongoing fundraising through the Foundation and the excellence that they support with research grants to our surgeons of the future. Through the support from the Circulation Foundation we are improving the lives of patients with vascular disease - saving limbs / saving lives.
I would be grateful for any support you are able to give - however small.
