Story
Hi! Last summer I bought a bike and in a fit of regrettable and misplaced enthusiasm, I was subsequently persuaded by my friend Haydn Gee to take part in the annual London to Brighton Bike Ride on June 18th.
Which is how I now I find myself committed to a 60 mile ride, with some Olympic standard hill climbs thrown in for good measure, despite never previously having ridden much further than to the nearest pub.
Nonetheless, I have been training hard(ish) and getting ready to make sure that my legs and heart are up to the challenge. (Although my bottom, I fear, will never be ready.)
The British Heart Foundation has helped halve the number of people dying from heart and circulatory disease in the UK but sadly every day hundreds of people lose their lives. It's only thanks to support from people like you that the BHF can create new treatments and discover new cures.
£24 could pay for two hours of research by an early career scientist, but every pound helps so please give what you can to help me hit my target. Thanks!
