Our vision is for a UK without the need for food banks. We operate 8 welcome Centres throughout the city, which provide 17,000 3-day emergency food parcels per year to people in Cambridge. For those facing chronic poverty, we operate 5 Fairbite Food Clubs, where our members access affordable food.

Story

Cambridge City Foodbank do a fantastic job helping people in
crisis in and around Cambridge.  I have been volunteering with them for 18 months now and have seen first-hand how valuable the work they do is.

Cambridge is the most unequal city in the UK and in the last 12 months alone, they have helped nearly 7,000 local residents feed their families – a 25% year on year increase.

They have also recently announced the opening of a new Food Club Scheme called Fairbite that will further support those struggling to put
food on the table.  Fairbite is a Food Club where people will be able to collect food for free once they have paid a relatively nominal membership fee.  The aim is to provide families with a more dignified way of getting access to affordable food and to ultimately reduce the reliance on the Foodbank.  It will also help reduce the huge amount of
waste food that is thrown away daily by Supermarkets and other outlets.

Donating to the CCFB will help them not just support their existing operation but also get Fairbite off to a great start.  Please give generously!
