The World Health Organisation states that just 1 in 10 people with physical disabilities in the developing world have access to assistive technology. Legs4Africa addresses part of this deficit by providing equipment to societies where such equipment is either unavailable, or prohibitively expensive.

Story

Yesterday I was bored and grumpy after breaking my ankle, annoyed that I won't be able to do some of the things I enjoy for a few months. Then I read a bit about Legs4Africa and felt a bit silly! You know, people with real problems...

Legs4Africa do amazing work recycling prosthetic legs that would otherwise end up in landfill and facilitate support groups so amputees in Africa can live more independent, fulfilled lives. So instead of moaning (I do reserve the right to still moan...) I set up this page to raise some money for this great cause and to help get people in Ghana and The Gambia back on their feet and enjoying life.

I can't do much in terms of a physical challenge because of my ankle but I will do 5,000 sit-ups during my recovery if you sponsor me. If I reach my target it will pay for training and physiotherapy for 2 amputees and for two prosthetic legs to be delivered.

Thanks!
