Story
Once I finished rowing at Uni, I was pretty glad to be rid of the horrible 6am starts, the frozen riggers and the expectation that I may, one day, win a race.
However after a few years, the particularly painful memories of rowing have faded, and the promise of raising money for an incredibly worthwhile charity has encouraged me to use a rowing machine for longer than a two minute warm up.
In just a couple of weeks, six Close Brothers colleagues will attempt to row the length of the marathon (42k or so) on an erg in order to raise money for Cancer Research.
We aim to raise a total of £1500 between the six of us, with Close Brothers kindly agreeing to match all funds raised. If you would be able to sponsor even just a small amount, we would all be incredibly grateful.
Many thanks,
Paddy
