Story
Many of you will have seen the admirable and noble efforts of Marcus Rashford highlighting the impact the shutting of schools and lack of free school meals during the COVID-19 crisis will have on disadvantaged children.
Partnering with surplus food redistribution charity FareShare back in April he has gone on to raise over £20million.
This past year has been a tough one for all of us. The global pandemic has caused an influx of unemployment and redundancies proving just how easily any one of us could find ourselves and our families unexpectedly in a vulnerable position. I’ve found it both eye-opening and humbling, driving my desire to help families this Christmas.
So I’ve decided to challenge myself and my team to complete 2020 squats in 12 hours in order to raise money for FareShare. We are aiming to raise £7070 which will provide 2020 meals a day for 14 days over the Christmas holidays.
Just £1 provides 4 meals for vulnerable children and their families, meaning no matter how large or small your donation, you will be making a real difference!
If you’d like to come down and support us on the day, we will be squatting from 8am - 8pm on Saturday 19th December in Patrick Henry, 25 Balham Hill, SW12 9DX - all we ask is for you to please respect social distancing rules, bring a mask and be COVID responsible!
